Paddington Farm Trust was founded in 1983, when a group of committed individuals took on the running, and renovation, of Maidencroft Farm on the edge of Glastonbury.
After five years of hard graft, including rebuilding the old farm house and re-establishing the site as a working farm, we opened to our first visitors and youth groups in 1986, and we’ve been welcoming young people, families and volunteers ever since.
We offer educational and recreational farm experiences with a focus on young people and families from disadvantaged urban backgrounds. We also offer activities, courses and volunteer opportunities for the local community. We aim to encourage outdoor play, engagement with organic food and farming, environmental awareness and responsibility, and to support self-reliance and personal challenge through team activities and farm tasks.
By introducing young people to new and exciting experiences, including contact with farm animals, fresh air, healthy food and fun, we hope to build a lifelong love and respect for the countryside.
